Peabody Awards Announce This Year’s Nominees: Highlights Include ‘Heated Rivalry’, ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, ‘The Pitt’, and ‘Adolescence’
Canadian Productions Lead Nominees for 86th Annual Peabody Awards
The nominations for the 86th Annual Peabody Awards have been unveiled, showcasing a diverse range of impactful stories from broadcasting and streaming platforms. Among the titles recognized are the Canadian series Heated Rivalry, Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night program Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and the acclaimed series The Pitt and Adolescence.
The Peabody Awards highlight the year’s most engaging narratives across various categories, including Arts, Children’s/Youth, Entertainment, and Interactive & Immersive. A total of 68 nominations were announced, celebrating the work of creators who push the boundaries of storytelling.
Notable contenders in the Entertainment category include the Star Wars series Andor, the sci-fi drama Pluribus, the historical series Death by Lightning, and the Michelle Williams-led show Dying for Sex.
Earlier this week, the University of Georgia’s Grady School of Journalism, which organizes the Peabody Awards, also revealed nominees in the categories of Documentary, News, Public Service, and Radio/Podcast. Among these nominees is the Oscar-winning documentary Nobody Against Mr. Putin. Other standout entries include The Alabama Solution, The Perfect Neighbor, and Come See Me in the Good Light, in addition to a selection of impactful documentaries such as 2000 Meters to Andriivka and Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything.
Winners in all categories will be announced on April 23, with a ceremony scheduled for May 31 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. This year, the Peabody Career Achievement Award will be presented to Amy Poehler, while Sterlin Harjo will receive the Peabody Trailblazer Award. James L. Brooks will be honored with the Peabody Industry Icon Award, and PBS Kids will receive the Peabody Institutional Award.
