PBS Masterpiece Confirms Season 3 for The Forsytes
EXCLUSIVE: The Forsytes has secured a renewal for its third season even before the premiere of its first season on PBS Masterpiece.
Produced by Mammoth Screen, the first season is set to launch on PBS Masterpiece on March 22. The series has already premiered in the UK on the Paramount-owned network, 5. Notably, Season 2 was filmed last year.
The series provides a sweeping saga of a wealthy British family in 1880s London, featuring an ensemble cast led by BAFTA-winner Francesca Annis (Lillie), who portrays the formidable matriarch, Ann.
Joining Annis are True Blood star Stephen Moyer and Doctor Who actress Millie Gibson. The cast also includes Jack Davenport (The Morning Show) and Eleanor Tomlinson (One Day).
Moyer plays Ann’s eldest son, Jolyon Senior, who runs the family stockbroking firm Forsyte & Co. Additionally, Danny Griffin (Fate: The Winx Saga) portrays his bohemian son Jo, while Tuppence Middleton (Downton Abbey: A New Era) takes on the role of Frances, his status-driven wife. Tomlinson plays Louisa Byrne, a Soho dressmaker and Jo’s first love.
Davenport stars as Ann’s competitive younger son, James. Joshua Orpin (Titans) plays James’ shrewd son Soames, with Gibson featuring as his love interest. Tom Durant Pritchard (This Is Going To Hurt) plays Monty Dartie, James’ son-in-law.
Debbie Horsfield (Poldark) has written the adaptation, serving as one of the executive producers alongside Meenu Gaur, Michael Ray, and Damien Timmer at Mammoth Screen, part of ITV Studios. Susanne Simpson serves as the executive producer for Masterpiece.
The Forsytes is produced in association with ITV Studios, responsible for international distribution, while PBS Distribution manages the rights in North America.
