Patricia Heaton Shares Her Timeless Beauty Routine as Debra Barone
As Patricia Heaton returns to the set of *Everybody Loves Raymond* for a much-anticipated reunion, she experiences a blend of nostalgia and growth. The familiar laughter and chemistry among the cast remain intact, but Heaton approaches this moment with a renewed awareness, particularly regarding her skincare and beauty routine.
Reflecting on the original series, Heaton shared, “When I think back to the original show, I don’t necessarily remember specific products. But I *do* remember a ritual! On the show, I always had a lotion on my bedside. In any ‘going-to-bed’ scenes, I made my character’s ‘thing’ to apply hand lotion. I actually incorporated that into my own life. I like to use something lightly scented—why not? On my bedside now: Farmhouse Fresh Sweet Tea Hand Cream.”
Reuniting with the cast has prompted Heaton to reassess her current beauty regimen as she strives to feel fresh and camera-ready. One recent addition to her routine is red-light therapy. “I have a mask I use two or three times a week for about 10 to 15 minutes. It’s become this really calming part of my routine,” she explained.
A visit to a Beverly Hills dermatologist introduced her to the significance of cell turnover. “He talked about the importance of cell turnover, so I started using C of Change Peel Pads at night,” she said. “They have 2% salicylic acid, so not too harsh.”
Embracing the wisdom of age, Heaton has welcomed the idea of adding a healthy glow to her appearance. “As I’ve gotten older, I’m finding the benefit of adding a little dewy finish to my skin. In real life, after I do my makeup, I pop a little light-catching Wonder Balm by Laura Geller to the tops of cheeks, tip of nose and chin. My fave shade is Honey Haze because it’s a little warm-toned. I feel like that mimics a sun glow, year-round. Obsessed!”
As cameras prepared to flash for the reunion, Heaton relied on the expertise of her long-time makeup artist, Brett Freedman. “I’ve worked with Brett since 1998 during a photo shoot when *Raymond* was in its second season. We have a shorthand when it comes to glam. It all starts with the outfit. If it’s a suit, sometimes we like to amp it up with a smoky eye. We’re collaborative, and I actually like the fashion and glam element to being an actress. It’s part of it, so I give it time and energy,” Heaton noted.
However, as she revisits her on-screen past, Heaton’s off-screen reality is more defined than ever. “Real talk: I quit drinking seven years ago,” she stated. “Since, it’s interesting how it’s changed the way I interact at events and the post-event vibes. There’s a clear end time now. I think when I was having a social drink or two, I’d get a little loose and maybe stay a touch longer than probably what was smart, considering my next morning. Nowadays, generally, my husband and I will swap stories on the ride home, and then it’s time to get in our comfies and chill.”

Freedman echoed Heaton’s sentiments about their long-standing partnership. “I’ve worked with Patricia since 1998. What a fun night of old and new friends!” Ahead of the reunion filming, he shared the details behind Heaton’s look:
SKIN PREP: “I had Patricia use FHF’s Timescape Facial Polish every other night a week before the show. I wanted to push her cell turnover to reveal the most baby-soft skin possible!”
REFRESH: “Before moisturizing, I like to give the skin a mist to have some sheer hydration so the moisturizer has something to lock in. Super Lettuce Facial Tonic to the rescue! So refreshing and wow, does it get the skin ready.”
MOISTURE: “Patricia has been traveling, so I used FHF’s new Cactus Cloudsilk Peptide Serum. Six peptides give a gorgeous retexture to dry skin. AND it’s fantastic under makeup.”
BASE: “Once Patricia’s skin was prepped, I used Laura Geller’s Baked Balance-n-Brighten marbleized foundation in Light. This baked cream base is gorgeously buildable.”
EYE CREAM: “Pro insight: I actually dab FHF’s Firmtastic Eyes Serum OVER makeup. It’s so sheer and helps the makeup move with the skin flawlessly.”
EYESHADOW: “I wanted to give Patricia’s eyes pop…but in neutral, soft pop. I used Laura Geller’s Delectables 14 Madison Ave. Mattes. Shades: I used Tailored from lash line to brow bone as a brightening base. I then swept the chocolate-y Prestige in Patricia’s crease and tightly along her bottom lash line. I then popped her arch with a touch of Elegance just under her brow.”
LIP PREP: “I’m obsessed with Sweet Cactus Pear Lip Drench; I know it’s a lip sleep mask, but I like to do a couple of layers while I glam to really give the lips a pop of hydration! Oh, and it gives lips a little lift in natural color that works great under any lip color.”
HIGHLIGHT: “To give Patricia’s cheeks and eyes a light-catching highlight, I used Laura Geller’s Baked Gelato Swirl in Gilded Honey. I love the warm glow. I dabbed on the apples of cheeks, tear duct, tip of nose and chin.”
