Paramount+ Announces Premiere Date and First Look at Beth and Rip’s Story in ‘Dutton Ranch’ Spinoff
Paramount+ Releases Trailer for Dutton Ranch, a New Yellowstone Spinoff
Paramount+ has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming series Dutton Ranch, featuring Kelly Reilly reprising her role as Beth Dutton. In a striking opening, Beth declares, "A legacy is a beautiful thing, but only if it survives."
The trailer, released on Monday, showcases Beth and her husband Rip, played by Cole Hauser, as they engage in familiar intense drama, including explosions, fires, and confrontations—all set against the backdrop of a picturesque Texas sunset, diverging from the Montana landscapes of the original Yellowstone series.
Dutton Ranch is set to premiere on May 15 at 8 p.m. with two episodes on Paramount+ and will also air on Paramount Network. The nine-part series follows the couple as they navigate the challenges of building their future together. Notably, the conclusion of Season Five of Yellowstone left viewers with a shocking cliffhanger—in which Beth’s brother Jamie, portrayed by Wes Bentley, attempts to kill her, only for Rip to intervene, resulting in Beth ultimately killing her brother.
Alongside Reilly and Hauser, the new series stars Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, and Natalie Alyn Lind. Finn Little returns as Carter, a character they nurtured in the original series.
The cast also features Ed Harris and Annette Bening. Harris plays Everett McKinney, a seasoned veteran and veterinarian, while Bening is set to portray Beulah Jackson, the head of a significant Texas ranch, characterized as powerful and cunning.
In this series, viewers will witness Beth and Rip confront brutal new realities as they face off against a rival ranch determined to maintain its hold on power. The logline conveys a world where “blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.”
Dutton Ranch is one of two Yellowstone spinoffs debuting this year, with Marshals, starring Luke Grimes, having premiered earlier. Spencer Hudnut, the showrunner of Marshals, noted that both series coexist within the same timeline and universe, hinting at the potential for future crossovers.
The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. It was created by Chad Feehan, who also developed Taylor Sheridan’s Lawmen: Bass Reeves. Feehan serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside a team that includes Taylor Sheridan, John Linson, David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, and Keith Cox. Directors for the series include Voros, Greg Yaitanes, Jessica Lowrey, and Phil Abraham.
