Nicola Coughlan and Aimee Lou Wood Set to Host Upcoming Episode of Saturday Night Live UK
Saturday Night Live UK has announced its next two hosts, showcasing a lineup of rising stars.
Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan and White Lotus actor Aimee Lou Wood will host the upcoming episodes airing on April 25 and May 2, respectively. Each will be accompanied by musical guests, with the Foo Fighters performing on April 25 and MEEK joining Wood on May 2.
Coughlan has achieved global recognition for her role as Penelope Bridgerton in Netflix’s hit series, while Wood gained acclaim for her role in Sex Education, which earned her a BAFTA award, along with her appearance in The White Lotus. Both women are noted for their comedic talent and appeal.
Coughlan’s hosting role has been hinted at, as she previously appeared in the show’s first episode alongside guest host Tina Fey and participated in a sketch featuring George Fouracres.

Wood has had a complicated relationship with SNL, previously critiquing the American version as “mean and unfunny” following a sketch in which Sarah Sherman made fun of her teeth in a parody of White Lotus. Sherman later issued an apology.
The announcement of their hosting was made this morning, but the episodes are set to air in 11 days as SNL UK is currently on hiatus.
The initial four episodes have received positive reactions, although ratings have been on a decline.
The first four hosts include Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Riz Ahmed, and Jack Whitehall.
Whitehall’s episode featured one of SNL UK’s most American-themed cold opens, satirizing Melania Trump. Emma Sidi portrayed her in a sketch where she assured a group of BBQers in south London, “I definitely aren’t buddies with disgraced pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.” Sidi echoed a recent press statement, asserting, “Never have I ever been friends with billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein,” leaving the BBQers bewildered.
In his opening monologue, Whitehall quipped about the challenges of planning his upcoming wedding to model partner Roxy Horner, exclaiming, “It’s like planning a royal wedding. The whole thing could be ruined if my uncle turned up.”
He was joined by musical guest Jorja Smith during his episode.
