In Season 2, the story centers on a Gen-Z couple who find themselves embroiled in the crumbling relationship of their Millennial boss and his wife. Newly engaged Ashley Miller (played by Cailee Spaeny) and Austin Davis (Charles Melton), both junior staff members at a country club, are pulled deeper into the turmoil involving General Manager Joshua Martín (Oscar Isaac) and his wife, Lindsay Crane-Martín (Carey Mulligan). As both couples seek favor from the club’s wealthy owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh-jung), she grapples with her own marital scandal involving her second husband, Doctor Kim (Song Kang-ho).
The ensemble cast also includes Mikaela Hoover as Ava and Matthew Kim as Woosh.
Lee Sung Jin returns as creator, showrunner, and executive producer for the eight-episode season. The executive production team includes Jake Schreier, Steven Yeun, Ali Wong, and Anna Moench, among others. The project is produced by A24.
The first season of Beef premiered in 2023, garnering critical acclaim and receiving numerous accolades, including eight Emmy Awards, four Critics Choice Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards. The initial season starred Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, whose lives intersect dramatically following a road rage incident—a scenario inspired by Lee’s personal experiences.
