Former Prince Andrew is reportedly linked to an encounter at Sandringham House that pertains to Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.
Recently released documents from the Department of Justice (DOJ) include a black-and-white photograph depicting Andrew, 65, lying across the laps of several women—whose identities have been redacted—within the saloon at Sandringham. The image also features convicted Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, as reported by The Times.
Sandringham is well-known as a family favorite where the royals have traditionally spent Christmas and New Year’s, a practice established by the late Queen Elizabeth in 1988.

This image is part of thousands of records from Epstein’s estate released by the DOJ on December 19 and may provide further insight into Andrew’s friendship with Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while facing federal charges for sex trafficking.
In October, Andrew was stripped of all royal titles—including the title of prince—due to his involvement in a series of scandals, particularly his relationship with Epstein.

Reports indicate that King Charles made his decision regarding Andrew’s titles with the backing of royal family members, including Prince William.
Jeffrey Epstein had pleaded guilty to soliciting sex from a minor in 2008, and his longstanding relationship with Andrew was well-documented at the time, featuring photographs of the two at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

In 2015, Andrew was named in a lawsuit against Epstein brought by Virginia Giuffre, who alleged she was sex trafficked to him when she was 17 and had three sexual encounters with him. Andrew has consistently denied wrongdoing in the case.
He stepped back from royal duties in November 2019 following a widely scrutinized interview with BBC’s Newsnight regarding his ties to Epstein.
In January 2022, Queen Elizabeth removed Andrew’s military titles and patronages after he sought to have Giuffre’s sexual assault lawsuit dismissed. The following month, he settled with Giuffre out of court for an undisclosed sum.
Giuffre died by suicide on April 24, 2025, at the age of 41. Her posthumous memoir intensified scrutiny of Andrew, with her claiming that he “believed having sex with me was his birthright.”
