New Insights into Tiger Woods’ Florida Rollover Crash: What We Know So Far
Detailed Investigation into Tiger Woods’ Rollover Crash in Florida
Authorities have provided new insights into the circumstances surrounding Tiger Woods’ recent rollover car crash in Florida. The incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. on March 27, when the Martin County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a serious accident in Jupiter Island.
Upon arrival, police discovered a pickup truck towing a pressure cleaner trailer alongside a Land Rover that was overturned on its driver’s side. Sheriff John Budensiek explained that the driver of the pickup, who remains unnamed, noticed a dark-colored Land Rover speeding past and attempted to maneuver off the narrow two-lane road. "He tried to edge off to the side of the road, but this is a small two-lane road and there was no shoulder for this pressure cleaner gentleman to get off the side of the road," Budensiek stated, detailing how the Land Rover clipped the back of the trailer while swerving to avoid a collision.
A photograph from the scene confirmed the condition of the Land Rover, which was lying on its side. According to police, Woods, 50, was driving the Land Rover but managed to exit the vehicle without sustaining injuries. However, officers suspected impairment and called in DUI investigators for further assessment.
"Mr. Woods did exemplify signs of impairment," police noted during the press conference. They conducted several tests, considering Woods’ recent medical history, including surgeries related to a collapsed lumbar disc in October 2025.
Authorities indicated that Woods passed a breathalyzer test with a result of "triple zeros." However, when requested to submit to a urinalysis test, he declined. As a result, Woods has been charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
Just days prior to the accident, Woods had participated in a golf event in Los Angeles, marking his first competitive outing in over a year. Reflecting on his ongoing recovery from various health issues, Woods remarked, “This body, it doesn’t recover like it did when it was 24, 25. It doesn’t mean I’m not trying.”
Despite facing multiple challenges throughout his career, Woods continues to express his passion for golf. “I just love doing the work. I love logging the time in. I love preparing, I love competing, and I love that feeling when everything’s on fire with a chance to win and you either do or you don’t,” he shared in a recent interview.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing as police gather more information.
