New Community Health Clinic Opens in Panorama City
A new health clinic focused on providing medical and dental services to low-income and formerly unhoused residents officially opened Wednesday at an affordable housing complex in Panorama City. The facility was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Rep. Luz Rivas, D-Arleta, along with local leaders.
Operated by the San Fernando Community Health Center, the satellite clinic is situated within the Corazón del Valle development, a 180-unit housing complex designed to offer supportive services in conjunction with housing.
Officials announced that the clinic will deliver essential services including primary and pediatric care, dental services, and treatment for chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension. This initiative also aims to reach residents in the surrounding community.
Rivas played a crucial role in securing $2 million in state funding for the clinic during her tenure in the California Assembly in 2022. "I’m excited to be welcoming the San Fernando Community Health Center to Panorama City, where it will play a key role in providing quality medical and dental care to those facing housing and economic instability in our community," she stated.
The clinic features two medical exam rooms and two dental treatment rooms, designed to enhance access to care for patients, regardless of their income or insurance status.
Local leaders emphasized that this project is part of a larger effort to bridge healthcare access with stable housing, uniting nonprofit organizations, community members, and industry partners.
"When our patients are empowered to take charge of their own health, it strengthens the well-being of the entire community," said Audrey Simons, CEO of the San Fernando Community Health Center.
The facility operates on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 14533 Lanark St. Appointments are encouraged, although limited walk-in visits are available.
