Netflix Film Rankings: ‘Jingle Bell Heist’ and ‘Champagne Problems’ Shine as ‘Kpop Demon Hunters’ Holds Strong in Top 10 for 24 Weeks; ‘Stranger Things 5’ Leads TV Charts
Holiday Movies Dominate Netflix Viewership Amid "Stranger Things" Finale
Holiday-themed films captured viewers’ attention on Netflix last week, alongside the much-anticipated final season of Stranger Things.
Launched on November 26, the concluding season of the Duffer Brothers’ supernatural drama captivated audiences, achieving an impressive 59.6 million views in its opening weekend across the first four episodes. In a notable trend, all four previous seasons of Stranger Things also secured spots on Netflix’s English-language TV Top 10.
As the platform’s most-watched title, Stranger Things 5 was closely followed by two new Netflix original Christmas movies. Jingle Bell Heist, featuring Olivia Holt and Connor Swindells, claimed the top position with 19.3 million views, while Champagne Problems, led by Minka Kelly, took second place with 14.4 million views.
Additionally, Kpop Demon Hunters, which premiered over five months ago, secured the No. 3 position among English films and ranked fourth overall on the platform with 10.4 million views. This title has now set a record as the longest-charting film on Netflix, maintaining its place in the Top 10 for 24 weeks. The animated feature In Your Dreams, directed by Alex Woo, followed in fourth with 9.3 million views.
Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein landed in fifth place, attracting 7.3 million views, while Train Dreams, now in its second week on Netflix, followed closely behind with 6.9 million views.
Though no television show could rival Stranger Things, Kevin Hart’s latest comedy special, Acting My Age, garnered 9.2 million views, earning it the second spot in TV viewership.
