Neon Acquires Jeff Nichols’ ‘King Snake’ Featuring Margaret Qualley, Michael Shannon, and Drew Starkey
Neon has secured the U.S. distribution rights to King Snake, the latest film from acclaimed director Jeff Nichols.
This Southern gothic horror story revolves around a young couple, played by Margaret Qualley and Drew Starkey, who inherit a farm in Arkansas. As they navigate the challenges of their new home, they encounter both real-world issues and supernatural threats, facing off against both physical and metaphysical demons while unraveling the dark legacy of the property. The cast also features Michael Shannon.
The film is financed by FilmNation Entertainment, which is also responsible for worldwide sales. Jeff Nichols is producing alongside his Tri-State Pictures partners, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Sarah Green, in collaboration with Range Media Partners. Stacey Snider and Glen Basner from FilmNation serve as executive producers. The deal was negotiated by Neon in conjunction with FilmNation and Range Media Partners on behalf of the filmmakers. King Snake is set to be released theatrically across the U.S. Production commenced this month in Arkansas. Variety first reported on King Snake.
