Nabhaan Rizwan and Claes Bang Join Netflix’s ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Series
Nabhaan Rizwan, known for his work in In Camera and Kaos, along with Claes Bang, star of The Square and Bad Sisters, have secured roles as series regulars in Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Ubisoft’s popular video game franchise, Assassin’s Creed.
Set against the backdrop of a secret war between two enigmatic factions, Assassin’s Creed explores themes of control and free will as its characters navigate through pivotal historical moments that shape humanity’s future. The series promises to deliver high-octane thrills as it delves into the conflict between those aiming to manipulate mankind’s destiny and those who resist.
Details surrounding the specific roles of Rizwan and Bang remain undisclosed. They will join an ensemble cast that includes Lola Petticrew, Toby Wallace, Zachary Hart, Laura Marcus, and Tanzyn Crawford.
The show is helmed by showrunners Roberto Patino and David Wiener, who are also executive producers alongside Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, Genevieve Jones from Ubisoft Film & Television, and Matt O’Toole.
Assassin’s Creed has sold over 230 million units, making it one of the most successful video game franchises in history.
Rizwan, a two-time BAFTA nominee, has recently played Dionysus in Kaos and starred in BBC Films’ In Camera, directed by Naqqash Khalid. His television credits further include Dope Girls and Juice. Rizwan is represented by B-Side Management and Production.
Claes Bang gained acclaim as the lead in Ruben Östlund’s Oscar-nominated film The Square, which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2017. He is set to appear in Billion Dollar Spy alongside Russell Crowe, as well as in the Netflix project The Secret Woman and German film Ich ist ein Anderer. Additionally, Bang will portray Dr. Jakob Joseph in the German series Dr. Jakob. He is represented by UTA and Sharkey & Co in the UK.
