Magness began her musical journey at the age of eight, eventually recording a demo that caught the attention of her future manager, Jeff Pringle, as detailed in a 2012 interview with Teen Vogue. Her early collaboration with the band Blessed by a Broken Heart for “Wait and See” led to a feature in the 2011 film, *Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer*.
Before gaining significant recognition, Magness posted YouTube videos, which attracted the interest of performers like Greyson Chance and Cody Simpson. She opened for Simpson on the Waiting 4U Tour in 2010 and joined Chance on his arena tour in 2012.
In 2012, Magness also opened for One Direction during their Up All Night Tour, initially for seven shows in Connecticut. This collaboration continued as she was invited to participate in One Direction’s 2013 Take Me Home Tour.

Reflecting on her experience, Magness told Teen Vogue, “Going into the tour, I was an unknown artist. It’s a great feeling to be walking around and someone coming up to me and saying, ‘Hey, you did so well!’ It was really exciting for me when that happened for the first time.” She later described opening for One Direction as “amazing,” noting her excitement over gaining new fans and friends.
Over the years, Magness released several singles, including “Now or Never,” “Lovesick,” and “Machines.” In 2016, she opened for Fifth Harmony during their 7/27 Tour and released her *Love Maps* EP in 2021.
