MPSE Golden Reel Awards Celebrate Film Winners Including ‘Sinners’, ‘Frankenstein’, and ‘Zootopia 2’ – Complete List Inside
*Sinners*, *Frankenstein*, *Zootopia 2*, and *Sirât* were recognized among the film winners at the 73rd Golden Reel Awards hosted by the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) on Sunday evening at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles.
The awards ceremony, hosted by comedian Patton Oswalt, also honored television productions such as *Adolescence*, *Alien: Earth*, and *Étoile*. These awards celebrate excellence in sound editing, sound design, music editing, and foley artistry across film, television, and gaming. A complete list of winners is provided below.
The evening’s standout was Warner Bros.’ *Sinners*, which emerged as the only double winner, securing awards for Outstanding Achievement in Feature Dialogue/ADR and Music Editing. This film is also a leading contender for the Oscars.
The MPSE honored Kathleen Kennedy, the longtime president of Lucasfilm, with the prestigious 2026 Filmmaker Award. This accolade is given to individuals outside the sound community who have significantly appreciated the impact of sound editing. Kennedy, an eight-time Oscar nominee, stepped down from her role at Lucasfilm in January after 14 years.
Mark Mangini, a supervising sound editor and two-time Academy Award winner for *Dune* and *Mad Max: Fury Road*, was presented with the Career Achievement Award.
Last summer, MPSE made headlines by banning projects utilizing generative AI from Golden Reel consideration in an effort to maintain quality and integrity in sound editing.
Established in 1953, the Motion Picture Sound Editors is an international collective of sound artists that spans over 40 countries across six continents. The organization’s mission is to elevate the craft of sound and recognize the integral role that sound artists play in storytelling.
