Los Angeles, CA – A bustling day of high school baseball and softball games unfolded this weekend, showcasing intense competition across various sections.
In the City Section baseball matches, Crenshaw edged out LA Jordan with a close score of 9-8. LA University triumphed over LA Hamilton, winning 6-1. Other notable games included North Hollywood defeating Verdugo Hills 5-3, and Sun Valley Poly securing a decisive 6-1 victory against Granada Hills Kennedy. Sun Valley Magnet dominated Community Charter with an impressive 19-2 scoreline, while Sylmar narrowly beat San Fernando, 3-2. Torres also claimed victory, finishing 5-1 against Rancho Dominguez.
In the Southern Section, Alhambra triumphed over Pasadena Poly by a narrow margin of 7-5, while Alta Loma outplayed San Dimas with a final score of 12-7. Other results included Artesia defeating Long Beach Cabrillo 6-3 and Beckman edging Paraclete with a score of 4-3. Buena asserted dominance, shutting out Fillmore 21-0.
The excitement continued as El Toro overwhelmed Oxford Academy with a staggering 23-0 win. In additional noteworthy matches, Chino Hills beat Upland 7-3 and Norco blanked Riverside King 10-0.
In the City Section softball games, Bell narrowly defeated South Gate 10-9, while Hollywood emerged victorious against Mendez, 21-10. Maywood Academy achieved a commanding 18-0 win over West Adams. North Hollywood faced a nail-biter, winning 16-15 against Cleveland.
Turning to the Southern Section, Calvary Baptist edged out Nogales 15-13, and Corona easily defeated Artesia with a 22-0 scoreline. Miller showcased a dominating performance, winning 29-3 against Pacific. Rubidoux also claimed a resounding victory, shutting out PAL Charter 20-0.
