Miley Cyrus Announces Engagement to Maxx Morando

Miley Cyrus has confirmed her engagement to musician Maxx Morando, who surprised her with a proposal and a unique gold ring. The couple, together for four years, attended the premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 1, where Cyrus shared insights about their relationship, coinciding with the release of her new single, "Dream as One."

During an interview on Good Morning America with Chris Connelly on December 3, Cyrus expressed her excitement about the engagement. When asked if congratulations were in order, she confirmed, “Yes, there’s more congrats.”

Cyrus revealed that Morando, who is 27, proposed while managing to keep it a surprise. “I am not easy to surprise because I love to control every situation, and I had completely surrendered,” she shared. “And I’m telling you, I was so, so, so surprised.”

Answering Morando’s question, she said she "of course" said yes and noted that he “did good” in choosing her chunky gold engagement ring. She remarked that her personal life “perfectly aligned” with the release of Avatar, emphasizing the connections between their lives.

After the engagement, Cyrus immersed herself in the world of Avatar, noting that while the film is grand in scale, it fundamentally explores themes of love and relationships—elements she relates to her own life. "Me and Max have been together for four years, and it’s obvious the drastic amount of growth I’ve had in those four years," she said, reflecting on shared dreams and aspirations.

Cyrus and Morando began dating in December 2021, and their relationship has grown alongside various milestones. They were seen together at events, recently attending the premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash, showcasing Cyrus’s new engagement ring, designed by Jacquie Aiche.

Cyrus remarked on the significance of maintaining their privacy during this time, stating, "I think it’s also being older, being more protective of what I’m open to sharing."
