Michelle Obama Unveils New Body Piercings on Podcast
Former First Lady Michelle Obama recently shared an unexpected personal update during her podcast, "IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson." In a spontaneous revelation, she disclosed that she added ten new body piercings, explaining that she initially planned to get just a few.
Discussing her recent decision, Obama recounted how she felt inspired by the younger generations around her who embrace body adornments. "I have always thought about getting some extra piercings in my ear and just never got around to it," she remarked. She noted the presence of a second hole in her ear from years ago, which she stopped using after having children.
Prompted by her co-host Craig Robinson’s remarks about her new ear accessories, Obama elaborated on the inspiration behind her decision. "There’s just more beautiful adornment,” she said, highlighting a trend toward a clustered look in ear jewelry. “You see more of a cluster, a constellation, with twinkles.”
In an amusing twist, Obama described the process of obtaining ten piercings in one sitting as relatively painless: “I was going in for a few," she admitted, but quickly found herself adding more. “So in one sitting, I’ve got 10 piercings—[It] wasn’t bad at all.”
This announcement comes as Obama promotes her latest book, Look, which reflects on her evolving sense of style over the years.
