New Season of ‘Cross’ to Debut with New Cast Member
The second season of Ben Watkins’ Cross on Prime Video will premiere on February 11, featuring actress Michelle C. Bonilla, known for her roles in Batman: Caped Crusader and 9-1-1: Lone Star. The launch will provide viewers access to the first three episodes, with additional episodes released weekly on Wednesdays, culminating in the season finale on March 18.
Cross, adapted from James Patterson’s best-selling Alex Cross book series, follows Aldis Hodge as the titular character, a skilled homicide detective and forensic psychologist adept at understanding the psychology of murderers.
In the upcoming season, Alex Cross is on the trail of a determined vigilante targeting corrupt billionaires.
Bonilla joins the cast as Clare, a resilient character who has faced her share of challenges and is fiercely protective of her niece Rebecca, whom she has raised.
The series is set in Washington, D.C., and will also introduce new actors Matthew Lillard, Jeanine Mason, and Wes Chatham, alongside returning stars Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, and Johnny Ray Gill. Notably, creator and showrunner Watkins himself will make an appearance in this season.
Alongside Watkins and Hodge, executive producers include Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, J. David Shanks, Aiyana White, Craig Siebels, Owen Shiflett, James Patterson, Bill Robinson, and Patrick Santa. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount Television Studios.
Bonilla’s recent television roles include recurring appearances on 9-1-1: Lone Star as Sara Ortiz and as Ava Diaz in Prime Video’s On Call. She has guest-starred in shows such as ABC’s High Potential, Grey’s Anatomy, The Rookie, and For All Mankind on Apple TV+.
In animation, Bonilla is a series regular in both Season 1 and the upcoming Season 2 of Batman: Caped Crusader, where she voices Detective Renée Montoya. She also had a recurring role as Mrs. Flores in the Emmy Award-winning series The Casagrandes from Nickelodeon and has appeared in episodes of Love, Death, & Robots on Netflix.
