The Gundam film is co-developed by Legendary and Bandai Namco Filmworks, marking the franchise’s first foray into live-action. Directed by Jim Mickle, known for his work on Sweet Tooth, the film will be produced alongside Linda Moran through their company, Nightshade, with contributions from Centineo and his partner, Enzo Marc. Created by Yoshiyuki Tomino, Gundam continues to thrive, generating over $600 million annually. Legendary announced the film’s development in spring 2021, initially bringing on director Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who later exited the project.
Giancarlo Esposito is renowned for his portrayal of Nacho Varga in AMC’s Better Call Saul as well as his breakout role in the sci-fi series Orphan Black. He will soon appear alongside Charlie Hunnam and Adria Arjona in the upcoming Prime Video series Criminal, which is based on the Marvel/Image comic book. Esposito is represented by UTA, Underground, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
