Melanie Martinez’s ‘HADES’ is This Week’s Top Pick from Fans
Trending on Billboard
HADES, the latest album from Melanie Martinez, has secured the top spot in this week’s fan-voted music poll. The results were published on Friday, March 27, showcasing the fans’ preferences in new music releases.
In a competitive week that featured fresh albums from popular artists such as Conan Gray, RAYE, Charlie Puth, and Miley Cyrus, Martinez’s album emerged as the clear favorite. By the poll’s closing on Sunday, HADES garnered an impressive 67% of the vote.
Preceding its March 27 release, HADES was highlighted by singles including “Possession” and “Disney Princess.” To celebrate the album, Martinez held a unique “Listening Chamber” event in London, directed by NIYADRE and produced by Bad Bones Films’ Laurence Warder and Daragh McCann.
Reflecting on the album, Martinez stated, “I started this album thinking I was writing a futuristic dystopia. But I realized I was just documenting the world we’re already living in. HADES is a cracked mirror. Beneath the rage, it’s a refusal to go numb – a call to feel, to see clearly, and to ask if we can still create something beautiful from the chaos we’ve been given.” This marks her fourth full-length studio album, released by Warner Music.
Comprising 18 tracks, HADES follows Martinez’s successful 2023 album, Portals, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Trailing behind HADES in the poll results were Conan Gray’s “The Best,” which received 20% of the vote, and RAYE’s This Music May Contain Hope, securing 7%. Charlie Puth and Miley Cyrus rounded out the poll, placing fourth and fifth, respectively.
