Maya Hawke Talks About Her New Marriage to Christian Lee Hutson Following Their Intimate Wedding
Maya Hawke Shares Her Joyful Experience of Married Life
Actress Maya Hawke discussed her recent marriage to musician Christian Lee Hutson during an event at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival, held on March 12. The conversation took place at the premiere of her film Wishful Thinking, where she reflected on her new life as a spouse.
Hawke and Hutson tied the knot in New York City on Valentine’s Day, February 14, marking a significant milestone in their relationship. "We are feeling absolutely fantastic," Hawke told People, commenting on their experiences one month into their marriage.
"I’m a very, very lucky person who’s very happy right now," she added at the SXSW premiere. "And yeah, couldn’t be more grateful."
The couple’s wedding was a stylish affair, with both opting for custom Prada attire. Attendees included Hawke’s well-known parents, Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, alongside her former co-stars Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, and Joe Keery.
Hawke’s wedding gown featured a sleeveless drop-waist silhouette and a layered skirt, complemented by a feather-trimmed coat and a dramatic train, reflecting her unique style.
The couple first met through mutual friends several years ago and collaborated on Hawke’s 2024 album, Chaos Angel. Speculation about their romantic relationship began in December 2023 when they were spotted together in New York City.
Previously, in 2025, Hawke praised the benefits of dating someone familiar during an interview on the Zach Sang Show: "It’s awesome. I cannot recommend highly enough dating your friends. They know you, and as a human being who has dated other people, they really know you as a person… not just a piece of paper for them to project their image of perfect girlfriend onto."
As Maya and Christian continue their journey together, their genuine happiness stands as a testament to their strong bond.
