Mariah Carey earned notable recognition as MusiCare’s 2026 Person of the Year during a prestigious gala on January 30, prior to the Grammy Awards slated for February 1.
The event, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, featured a dazzling display of glamour, significantly highlighted by Carey’s stunning red carpet appearance. The 56-year-old artist wore a sheer floral dress intricately designed with a corseted bodice and a flowing train, complemented by an array of diamond accessories, including a stunning collar necklace and layered bracelets.

Previous recipients of the Person of the Year award include renowned figures such as Dolly Parton, Joni Mitchell, and Stevie Wonder. Throughout her illustrious career, Carey has advocated for diverse causes including human rights and education. In a recent feature with Billboard, she commented on the title of "legend," stating, "Everybody has their own little meanings for what things they say. But I don’t call myself a legend.
