Major Truck Accident Shuts Down Section of 5 Freeway in Northern LA County
Big Rig Crash Closes Part of 5 Freeway in Castaic Area
A significant collision involving a big rig has resulted in the closure of part of the 5 Freeway in northern Los Angeles County. The incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. on the southbound side near Cherry Canyon, close to Pyramid Lake, north of Castaic.
As of now, it remains unclear whether there were any injuries from the crash. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has confirmed that all lanes will be closed until further notice as they manage the situation.
The big rig was found on its side, obstructing multiple lanes of traffic. Although details surrounding the cause of the accident are still forthcoming, high wind warnings were issued for various regions of Los Angeles County on Wednesday. These warnings are anticipated to remain in effect for parts of the week.
