Magnitude 4.9 Earthquake Shakes Riverside County

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. — A 4.9-magnitude earthquake shook Southern California on Monday evening, with the tremors felt most strongly in Indio, near Sky Valley, at approximately 5:56 p.m.

Following the initial quake, the region experienced at least four aftershocks, measuring magnitudes of 3.3, 3.4, 2.9, and 3.0.

As of now, there have been no reports of damage or injuries resulting from the earthquake or its aftershocks. Authorities are continuing to evaluate the situation, but further updates have yet to be released.
