Lucy Boynton, Babou Ceesay, and Peter Mullan Cast in Season 2 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
Lucy Boynton, Babou Ceesay, and Peter Mullan are set to join the cast of HBO’s upcoming second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Their additions expand the ensemble of the series, which is part of the Game of Thrones franchise and is set approximately 90 years prior to the original show.
In this new season, Boynton will portray Lady Rohanne, Ceesay will take on the role of Ser Bennis, and Mullan will play Ser Eustace Osgrey. Boynton is recognized for her performances in A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story and Bohemian Rhapsody, while Ceesay has gained acclaim for his work in Alien: Earth and Damilola, Our Loved Boy. Mullan is known for his roles in Ozark and I Swear.
The first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which showcased Pete Claffey as the hedge knight Ser Duncan ‘Dunk’ the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg—later revealed to be Prince Aegon Targaryen—concluded on February 22.
Set during a period when the Targaryen dynasty occupies the Iron Throne, the series follows the adventures of young knight Dunk and his companion Egg as they journey across Westeros. Filming for Season 2 commenced in December, with author George R. R. Martin and Ira Parker serving as co-creators. Parker also takes on the roles of showrunner and executive producer, alongside Sarah Bradshaw, Owen Harris, Ryan Condal, and Vince Gerardis, who also share executive producer responsibilities.
As excitement builds for the Game of Thrones universe, viewers can anticipate the upcoming release of House of the Dragon Season 3 in June. Additionally, it was recently announced that Beau Willimon, known for Andor, has been appointed as the screenwriter for an upcoming Game of Thrones film, which will center on Aegon I, the founder of the Targaryen dynasty.
In terms of representation, Boynton is signed with United Agents and CAA, while Ceesay is managed by The Artists Partnership and Entertainment 360. Mullan is represented by Markham, Froggatt & Irwin.
