Loyola Lacrosse Team is Making Waves with Their Impressive Performance
Loyola High School Lacrosse Team Dominates with Impressive Victories
Loyola High School’s lacrosse team has emerged as one of the strongest in the league this season, demonstrating their dominance with remarkable victories this past week. The team secured a staggering 29-0 win against Sierra Canyon and followed with a 28-1 triumph over Crespi.
“It’s very unusual,” remarked head coach Jimmy Borell, reflecting on the team’s limited goals allowed during these games.
Much of the team’s defensive prowess is attributed to junior Andrew Golden, who has excelled in face-offs, boasting an impressive 92.4% win rate. The Cubs, currently holding a 5-1 record, suffered their sole defeat to St. Ignatius of San Francisco, finishing 12-11.
Leading the offense is Tripp King, last year’s Southern Section player of the year and a commit to North Carolina. King has tallied 22 goals and 17 assists this season. Additionally, seniors Chase Hellie, who is committed to Tufts, and Everett Rolph have played vital roles on defense, easing the workload of goalkeepers Will Russo and Garrett Flynn.
Looking ahead, Loyola is scheduled to travel to Florida to compete against top teams from the East Coast, starting this Saturday.
