Long Beach Man Loses Life in Stabbing Incident
A man was fatally stabbed in Long Beach early Wednesday morning, prompting a police investigation and causing disruptions to service on Metro’s A Line.
Officers arrived at Pacific Avenue and 5th Street around 5 a.m. after receiving reports of the stabbing. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from stab wounds to his upper body. Firefighters promptly transported him to a local hospital.
“Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital,” stated Long Beach Police Department spokesperson Andrea Moran. “The motive for the incident is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.”
In the wake of the incident, reports indicated that a light rail train was halted at the location. Metro subsequently announced that bus shuttles are operating between the Pacific and Anaheim stations to accommodate commuters.
The motive for the stabbing remains unclear as the investigation continues.
