In an exclusive announcement, actors Lola Kirke, Pauline Chalamet, and John Gallagher Jr. have concluded their work on Swim Fishy, the debut feature from writer, director, and producer Kristen Buckels Cantrell. The film, produced under 2801 Productions, also features performances by Jenny O’Hara and Raúl Castillo.
Set against the backdrop of Arkansas, Swim Fishy tells the story of Clea (portrayed by Kirke), a thirty-something woman who is newly pregnant and striving to find stability in her life. Reluctantly, she embarks on a road trip with her uptight sister Frannie (played by Chalamet) to visit their estranged parents. To add a lighter touch to the journey, Clea invites her laid-back friend Abel (Gallagher Jr.) along. However, as the trio navigates unexpected detours and personality clashes, they must confront past wounds and unspoken truths, leading to an unanticipated reckoning.
