BLACKPINK’s Lisa recently enjoyed a day off to visit Punch the monkey at Ichikawa City Zoo in Chiba Prefecture, just outside Tokyo, Japan.
On Saturday, March 7, the 28-year-old singer shared charming photos from her visit on social media.
Punch, a baby macaque, gained attention online after being bullied by other monkeys in his enclosure. To comfort him, staff provided a large stuffed orangutan toy, which he now carries with him almost everywhere.
During her visit, Lisa showed her support by bringing her own stuffed orangutan, holding it up for Punch to see. In the photos posted to her Instagram Story, Lisa is seen smiling broadly while wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans, and a light-colored knitted beanie. She also included heartwarming shots of Punch with his beloved toy.
Amid her busy schedule, Lisa has begun filming a new movie titled Tygo in South Korea.
Last week, BLACKPINK released a new EP titled DEADLINE, their first significant music release since their 2022 album Born Pink topped the Billboard 200 chart. The five-track mini-album features the lead single “Jump,” which reached No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as tracks “Go,” “Me and My,” “Champion,” and “Fxxxboy.”
In 2022, the group reunited for an extensive stadium tour after pursuing individual projects. Lisa, Rosé, and Jennie released their solo albums — Alter Ego, Rosie, and Ruby, respectively — while Jisoo debuted her EP, Amortage.
