Simon Cowell’s fiancée, Lauren Silverman, is embarking on a new personal chapter by changing her surname to align more closely with her partner’s.
The 48-year-old entrepreneur announced her new identity as Lauren Cowell, despite the couple not having officially tied the knot. Recently, she launched an Instagram account featuring her fiancé’s surname.
“Look, I am Mrs. Cowell,” she stated in an interview with the Daily Mail. “I have created a life with Simon. We have a child together. We have a solid relationship.”

“This is more about the unity of our family and us having the same name,” she added. Simon expressed support for her decision, remarking, “Yeah, I would really like you to change your name.”
Silverman also discussed her previous decision to keep her ex-husband Andrew Silverman’s last name, primarily for the sake of their son Adam, 20. She mentioned that she had considered reverting to her maiden name after their divorce but ultimately chose to keep it longer for her son’s benefit.

Now that she has adopted the Cowell surname, Silverman is ready to walk down the aisle, whenever Cowell is prepared. He has previously indicated a desire for space before committing to marriage.
The couple’s engagement took place during a family vacation in Barbados on Christmas Eve in 2021, with both of Lauren’s sons present for the moment.
Despite her willingness to plan the wedding, Silverman admitted that they “haven’t planned anything” since the engagement. However, she clarified their approach, stating, “We will not be having a big, grand wedding with a white dress. We are very low-key.”

Regarding her future wedding plans, Lauren humorously remarked, “Simon is Simon! I might be in a wheelchair, and you’ll have to wheel me down the aisle.”
On the dynamic of their relationship, she emphasized the importance of giving Cowell space, particularly following emotional events, such as the death of Liam Payne. “The shock of it rattled all of us,” she noted. “Part of loving somebody unconditionally and understanding them is knowing what they need.”
