Laura Marcus Cast in Netflix Live-Action Series Adaptation of Assassin’s Creed
Laura Marcus Joins Netflix’s Assassin’s Creed as Series Regular
Laura Marcus, known for her roles in Death by Lightning and Sunrise on the Reaping, has been cast as a series regular in Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Assassin’s Creed. She will join previously announced leads Toby Wallace and Lola Petticrew, along with fellow series regular Zachary Hart.
Set against the backdrop of a secret war between two factions—one striving for control and manipulation, the other fighting for free will—Assassin’s Creed promises to be a high-octane thriller. The narrative explores characters as they navigate pivotal historical events, ultimately impacting humanity’s destiny.
Details regarding Marcus’ specific role remain under wraps. The production is slated to begin in Italy in 2026, although the exact historical period featured in the series has yet to be clarified.
Showrunners Roberto Patino and David Wiener will executive produce the series alongside Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, Genevieve Jones for Ubisoft Film & Television, and Matt O’Toole.
The Assassin’s Creed franchise has achieved remarkable success, with over 230 million units sold, making it one of the best-selling series in video game history.
This will be Marcus’ second project with Netflix; she previously portrayed Mollie Garfield, the daughter of former U.S. President James Garfield, in Death by Lightning. Additionally, she recently appeared in Disney+’s Andor and is set to star as Silka in the upcoming Hunger Games prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping.
An accomplished actress, Marcus’ other notable credits include roles in Starz’s The Serpent Queen, BBC’s Bad Education, and Prime Video’s The Devil’s Hour. She is represented by Conway Van Gelder Grant, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Michael A. Auerbach.
