Latto Shares Joyful News About Her First Baby on the ‘Big Mama’ Album Cover: A Heartfelt Thank You to God

Latto, the Atlanta rapper known for her dynamic hits, announced on Instagram Friday that she is expecting her first child. The news came alongside the reveal of the cover art for her upcoming album, titled Big Mama, where she showcases her baby bump while cradling a baby jungle cat.
The album, set for release on May 29, carries personal significance as it reflects her nickname, which now has a new meaning. While the rapper has yet to disclose the due date of her child, her Instagram caption expressed gratitude: “Thank you God.”
Fellow artists have expressed their excitement for Latto’s impending motherhood. Doechii commented, “Awwww so happy for you pretty girl,” while SZA offered her congratulations with the exclamation, “GORGEOUS!!! Congratulations.” Other peers, including JT, Monaleo, and Flo Milli, shared their well-wishes in the comments.
Following the cover reveal, Latto shared a snippet from the music video for her album’s lead single, “Business & Personal (Intro).” The clip features her assembling a crib and creating a scrapbook that includes a Clearblue pregnancy test. A notable moment shows her partner, 21 Savage, placing his hand on her baby bump.
Cardi B also joined the celebration, commenting, “Super buteee congrats” on the video clip.
Latto’s pregnancy announcement follows her confirmation of a relationship with 21 Savage, whom she referred to as her “husband” during a conversation with TMZ in September. The couple had been speculated to be dating for years prior to the announcement. 21 Savage is also a father to three children from a previous relationship.
Just a day before her baby news, Latto teased her new project with a video showing her walking towards a cheetah cub while strategically keeping her bump out of view. In the clip, she narrates about her journey and aspirations, stating, “Before you run the game, you gotta take baby steps to go the distance.”
Latto’s last album, released in 2024, peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 with Sugar Honey Iced Tea. Her previous efforts, Queen Of Da Souf and 777, also garnered chart success.
