LAPD Identifies Suspect in Shooting at Rihanna’s Home
LOS ANGELES – Authorities have identified 35-year-old Ivana Lisette Ortiz as the suspect in a shooting incident at the Los Angeles home of singer Rihanna. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed the identity of the suspect on Monday.
According to investigators, Ortiz allegedly fired multiple shots into the home of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky around 1:20 p.m. on Sunday in the Beverly Crest neighborhood. Witnesses reported a rapid volley of gunfire, with bullets striking the front gate and the entrance to the home.
Fortunately, officials confirmed that Rihanna was present during the incident.
Ortiz arrived at the residence in a white Tesla, which was later tracked by the LAPD’s air support unit. The vehicle was located at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, where patrol officers arrested Ortiz without incident. Inside the Tesla, law enforcement discovered an assault-style rifle.
On Monday, FOX 11’s Gigi Graciette reported that Ortiz has been charged with attempted murder. Bail has been set at $10,225,000, and she remains in custody.
In the wake of the incident, a neighbor recounted the shocking experience of hearing the gunfire. "Bam, bam, bam bam bam, like probably 10 shots," he said. "It was scary… very jarring in the middle of a nice Sunday afternoon."
As the investigation continues, it remains unclear whether A$AP Rocky and the couple’s children were home during the shooting. Additionally, the motive behind the attack and any possible connection between Ortiz and the couple is still unknown.
