Lakers’ Luka Doncic Injured in Game Against Clippers and Will Miss Rest of the Match
Lakers Star Luka Doncic Out Due to Left Leg Contusion
Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic sustained a left leg contusion during Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers, prompting the team to announce he would not return to the contest.
Doncic played 19 minutes in the first half, contributing 12 points, five rebounds, and two assists. However, he did not rejoin the team as they resumed play in the third quarter at Intuit Dome. His shooting, troubled throughout the match, saw him finish with four for 13 from the field and one for six from beyond the arc.
Entering the game, Doncic was the NBA’s leading scorer, averaging 35.2 points per game, and ranked third in assists with an average of 9.1.
In addition to Doncic’s injury, the Lakers are grappling with a series of injury issues this season. Rui Hachimura missed his first start due to a sore groin, which is expected to sideline him for three to five days. Meanwhile, teammates Austin Reaves (left calf) and Deandre Ayton (left elbow) are also unavailable.
