- Lainey Wilson has shared an update on where she and her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, stand in their wedding planning.
- “I’ve got a lot to do, I will tell you that. Duck’s like, ‘Are we really getting married?’ I’m like, ‘We are,'” the country singer stated, adding, “It’s gonna happen, but we don’t have all the details yet.”
- The couple announced their engagement in February 2025.
Lainey Wilson revealed that while specific plans for her wedding to fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges are still in the works, she remains optimistic they will sort out the details. Speaking at a recent event celebrating her No. 1 song, “Somewhere Over Laredo,” Wilson, 33, provided a candid update on their preparations.
“I’ve got a lot to do, I will tell you that. Duck’s like, ‘Are we really getting married?’ I’m like, ‘We are.’ I said, ‘I do, I done, I did, we’re doing it.’ But it’s going good,” she said, referencing the conversation in a clip shared by Taste of Country.
Wilson expressed her excitement but acknowledged the couple has yet to finalize the specifics. “It’s gonna happen, but we don’t have all the details yet,” she added.

Reflecting on her busy schedule, Wilson explained, “I’m starting to think about it more now, because honestly, with the tour and everything last year, and also with the holidays this year.” The “Whirlwind World Tour” concluded its main leg in Orlando, Florida, on November 8. Wilson is scheduled to perform in New Zealand and Australia next month.
Alongside her tour, Wilson had a demanding holiday season, performing at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and celebrating Christmas with Snoop Dogg. She noted, “Now I kinda feel like this is my holiday downtime, and so, I’m spending a little time on Pinterest, I’m making me a little board.”

This update follows the couple’s engagement announcement in February 2025, when Hodges proposed with a diamond ring inside a mini cowboy hat-shaped box. In August, Wilson conveyed that while they have been attempting to initiate planning, they are not in any rush.
“Man, I tell you what, trying to wrangle me in is, it’s a lot,” she admitted. “But I will say, even the hat box situation feels good as we celebrate our engagement and our love,” she added.
Wilson underscored the importance of her wedding dress journey. “I need to go dress shopping or I need to talk to somebody about making a dress,” she remarked. “I need to go get fitted. How about that? That’s the first step.”

As the wedding approaches, Wilson hopes that Hodges, whom she describes as her “biggest supporter,” will be emotional when he sees her walking down the aisle. “I’m excited to just step outside of the box and see what happens,” she said. “So hopefully when he sees me, he’ll be boohooing.”
She expressed confidence in her soon-to-be husband, saying, “The sky is the limit, that’s how he acts about everything. He’s just the place that I get to call home, and I’m lucky to have him, and I think he’s pretty dang lucky to have me, too.”
Previously, Wilson emphasized the importance of quality time in their relationship. “You have to definitely carve out the time,” she said. “It has to be something that you’re very aware of, and you’re like, ‘Okay, I’ve got a day off here in 10 days. I’ve got to dedicate that day to spend time with my person.'” She added, “And we both need that and deserve that, and it’s always great. We just try to soak up those moments as best as we possibly can.”
