Labrinth Shares His Thoughts on Euphoria and Announces Retirement from the Music Industry
Euphoria Composer Labrinth Voices Frustration on Instagram
Labrinth, the composer behind the music for HBO’s acclaimed series Euphoria, expressed his discontent with both the show and his record label in a blunt social media post late last night.
In an unfiltered statement shared on Instagram, the British musician declared, “I’m done with this industry,” followed by expletives directed at both Columbia Records and Euphoria. He wrote, “Fuck Columbia,” referencing his current label. The post concluded with an emphatic, “Double Fuck Euphoria. I’m out. Thank you and good night.”
Labrinth’s statement was posted without any accompanying caption. Efforts to reach his representatives and HBO for clarification regarding the implications of his message are underway.
Having composed the show’s score since its inception, Labrinth’s work has garnered recognition, including an Emmy award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the song “All for Us.” Earlier this week, he attended the Balenciaga 2026 Winter show in Paris, where Euphoria creator Sam Levinson teased footage from the highly anticipated third season.
HBO confirmed last year that Labrinth will return to score the upcoming season alongside renowned composer Hans Zimmer. Euphoria Season 3 is set to premiere on April 12, featuring an eight-part arc that transitions characters out of high school and is expected to conclude their journey.
Returning cast members include Zendaya as Rue Bennett, along with Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Eric Dane, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Dominic Fike, and Maude Apatow. Colman Domingo will reprise his role as a guest star, while Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry have been promoted to series regulars. Additionally, the season will introduce new faces such as Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, Kadeem Hardison, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Toby Wallace.
