LA28 Announces New Verified Ticket Resale Program for 2027 Ahead of First Ticket Release
LA28 Ticket Notifications for Southern California and Oklahoma City Residents
Residents in Southern California and Oklahoma City who registered for the first LA28 ticket draw will receive email notifications this week regarding their designated time slots to purchase tickets. The notifications will be sent out on a rolling basis from Tuesday through Saturday.
Over 5 million individuals have registered for the ticket draw. For those unable to secure a time slot next month, the resale market will provide an alternative. LA28 announced a verified multi-platform ticket resale program, set to launch in 2027. This program aims to offer multiple access points for purchasing LA28 tickets through verified sources.
AXS and EVENTIM have been designated as the “Official Secondary Ticket Marketplace” for LA28, with additional resale platforms including Ticketmaster and Sports Illustrated Tickets. LA28 Chief Executive Officer Reynold Hoover emphasized that the verified resale options will enhance fans’ ability to "shop with confidence" through reliable sources.
Key Details About the Verified Resale Program
LA28 provided pertinent details about the forthcoming resale program:
- Primary tickets for LA28 will be exclusively available for purchase through AXS and EVENTIM, the official ticket service providers.
- The only platforms authorized to sell verified LA28 tickets for resale will be AXS, EVENTIM, Ticketmaster, and Sports Illustrated Tickets, with activity in this area commencing in 2027.
- Tickets sold on any other websites before 2027 will not be verified by LA28.
Representatives from AXS, EVENTIM, Ticketmaster, and Sports Illustrated Tickets affirmed their commitment to maintaining marketplace integrity and ensuring a secure, reliable, and transparent experience for fans.
Ticket Sale Timeline
The first ticket drop for LA28 is scheduled for early April. The process will unfold as follows:
- Residents who registered will be notified of their time slots via email from Tuesday through Saturday.
- A presale for locals in Los Angeles and Oklahoma City will begin on April 2.
- Those who do not receive a time slot will automatically be entered into a second draw, “Drop 2,” to be held later.

- General public ticket sales will commence on April 9.
LA28 tickets will cover all sports events, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, taking place across over 40 venues in Los Angeles. Fans selected for time slots can purchase up to 12 tickets for Olympic events starting at $28 each, in addition to 12 soccer tournament tickets, which do not count toward the general limit. The “Drop 1” period will conclude on April 19.
Tickets for the LA28 Paralympic Games will be available in 2027.
Looking Ahead to the Games
Hoover remarked on the excitement leading up to the ticket sales, stating, “This week marks the first opportunity for fans to claim a seat at the LA28 Olympic Games. We’ve been thrilled to see the outpouring of enthusiasm from fans all around the world."
Los Angeles will become the third city to host the Olympic Games three times, having previously hosted in 1932 and 1984, and this will be the city’s inaugural event for the Paralympic Games. Officials anticipate 15,000 athletes will participate in the 2028 Olympics, with UCLA set to serve as the Athlete Village.
