Kelly Clarkson Joyfully Performs Melissa McCarthy’s Voicemail After Fun Holiday Game Loss
Holiday Cheer on The Kelly Clarkson Show: Melissa McCarthy’s Unique Gift
During the December 10 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, actress Melissa McCarthy enjoyed a festive moment when she won a playful segment titled "Reindeer Games." The 55-year-old star received a memorable Christmas gift from host Kelly Clarkson: a personalized voicemail message set to the tune of "Hark the Herald Angels Sing."
McCarthy participated in a lively competition, where both she and Clarkson donned inflatable reindeer antlers, competing to hook rings onto one another. McCarthy triumphed in the game by successfully landing three rings compared to Clarkson’s two.
“Okay, do you have your phone?” Clarkson asked McCarthy after the game concluded. Once McCarthy handed over her device, Clarkson launched into a humorous rendition:
"Hark, my lady’s phone will ring
But she won’t be answering
Nope!
Do not take it personally
It’s not you, but probably
Trader Joes and In and Out
She is running all about
Leave a message at the tone
She’s probably home but doesn’t want to you."
McCarthy burst into laughter as Clarkson finished, exclaiming, "Oh my God, all right!"

This holiday season is proving to be particularly festive for McCarthy, who recently joined the ranks of former Saturday Night Live hosts by headlining its six-timers club. Shortly before her appearance on Clarkson’s show, she presented a lively, holiday-themed episode of the iconic sketch series.
During her SNL hosting gig, McCarthy showcased her physical comedy skills with a humorous skit involving a piano, where she whimsically pretended to crush her fingers on the keys. "Now I’ve ruined Christmas,” she joked, prompting a reassuring response from fellow cast member Kenan Thompson, who said, “Oh, nonsense, Melissa McCarthy. Come on, you haven’t ruined Christmas at all. Everyone here loves you. Now, why don’t we do one of your favorite Christmas songs?” The two then closed out the sketch with a playful mouth horn duet.
On a celebratory note for Clarkson, her iconic 2004 hit "Since U Been Gone" recently surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify. The track earned Clarkson a Grammy Award in 2006 for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and its music video won two MTV Video Music Awards in 2005 for Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.
