Kelly Bensimon Ends Relationship With New Boyfriend After Months Together: What Happened?
Kelly Bensimon Opens Up About Recent Breakup on Podcast
Former Real Housewives of New York City star Kelly Bensimon announced that she is single once more, sharing insights into her recent breakup during the January 8 episode of the iHeartRadio podcast “I Do Part 2.” At 57, Bensimon explained that she decided to end her relationship due to a perceived lack of support from her partner.
"I have a lot of bandwidth, and then, sometimes I just snap," she shared with her audience. “I had some health issues last year, and I was going through a lot of things personally. It really made me see what I wanted in my romantic life, and how I wanted to navigate that and move forward into 2026.” She stated that her ex-partner "did not show up when I really, really needed them," which ultimately led to her decision to split.
Bensimon had previously hinted at a new romance during an October 2025 episode of the podcast, describing her partner as “a wildly kind, very thoughtful girl dad. Very successful, very creative.” She praised him for being adventurous and encouraging her in her endeavors, including work and podcasting.
Throughout her recent podcast appearances, Bensimon kept details about her relationship relatively private, mentioning that her ex had “check[ed] all the boxes,” which explained why she fell in love with him. "He’s a very dynamic human… Very smart, very dynamic, very successful,” she noted.
Reflecting on her past relationships, which include a marriage to Gilles Bensimon from 1997 to 2007 and an engagement to Scott Litner in 2023, Bensimon said she had never experienced love until this recent relationship. "I fell madly in love with him. I love him," she expressed, admitting that she had been wearing "love goggles."
Her daughters, Sea and Teddy, noticed changes in their mother’s demeanor and voiced their concerns, asking, “Mommy, you’re not you.” Bensimon acknowledged that her children observed a shift, prompting her to acknowledge the “change in temperature” in her relationship.
Despite the breakup, Bensimon emphasized that she still cares for her ex and acknowledges his positive qualities. However, she expressed a new perspective: "I still think that he’s an amazing human. I don’t see him the way that I did, maybe, two weeks ago… When we did have a confrontational moment, I saw a lot of things I didn’t like. But that doesn’t make him bad, it just makes him not right for me.”
