Keith David Teams Up with Jake Johnson in NBC’s New Pilot from Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici, Directed by Akiva Schaffer
Actor Keith David will star alongside Jake Johnson in an upcoming single-camera comedy for NBC, created by Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-creator and executive producer Dan Goor, along with executive producer Luke Del Tredici. Akiva Schaffer, known for The Naked Gun, will direct and executive produce the project.
The untitled half-hour series is set in the realm of private detectives, following a legacy of iconic Los Angeles private eyes that began with Philip Marlowe.
The story revolves around Mickey Wilder (Johnson), a former LAPD officer who transitions to private investigator. David portrays Garner Taggert, Mickey’s boss, who heads the Garner Taggart PI Agency, where his son Mitch and Mickey operate as the primary PIs. Taggert is characterized as a tough individual with somewhat outdated views.
Goor and Del Tredici serve as writers and executive producers, while Universal Television, part of Universal Studio Group, produces the show.
