Katie Bates Opens Up About a Meaningful Necklace She Received After Her Loss During Husband’s Affair Scandal
Katie Bates Honors Her Late Baby Amid Marital Challenges
Katie Bates, a former star of Bringing Up Bates, recently shared a heartfelt tribute to her late baby while navigating a personal crisis involving her husband, Travis Clark. Following allegations of infidelity against Clark, Bates reflected on her loss and the significance of a necklace she received from her sister.
On April 4, Bates, 25, posted to her Instagram Stories about the special necklace featuring an angel wing charm and a peridot pendant, designed to commemorate her miscarriage in January. "This necklace is really special to me," she wrote. "The angel wings and August birthstone represent our sweet baby in heaven [who is] forever a part of our family."
Bates, a member of the prominent Bates family of nineteen children, initially revealed her pregnancy loss on January 16. "I will spend the rest of my life missing you," she captioned a post documenting the moment she and Clark, 24, discovered they were expecting their third child. The couple celebrated their marriage in 2021 and welcomed daughters Hailey and Harvey in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
While Clark did not publicly address the miscarriage, he issued an apology on Instagram shortly after the affair allegations surfaced. "This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife," he stated. "There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry."
In the wake of these revelations, the couple is currently working toward rebuilding their relationship. Clark recently shared on Instagram, "I’ve been sitting in what I did for a couple of months now… I’m disappointed, ashamed, and honestly disgusted with myself." He emphasized his commitment to fighting for their marriage and family.
Katie and Travis have also engaged in a couple’s therapy intensive program, which Bates described as a difficult yet transformative experience. "Just wrapped up a four-day therapy intensive," she wrote on March 2. "It was hard. Emotional. Stretching in ways I didn’t fully expect, but it was also one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I’m leaving better than I came, and that alone feels like an answered prayer."
As the couple takes steps to navigate their path forward, both Katie and Travis are focused on healing and strengthening their bond.
