Katey Sagal and Kurt Sutter Bring Exciting News About ‘Khorus Harmonia’ for ‘SOA’ Fans Looking Forward to a Biker Prequel
Sons of Anarchy Team Ventures into New Project with Khorus Harmonia
Hollywood, CA — Actors Katey Sagal and Kurt Sutter, renowned for their work on Sons of Anarchy, are launching an exciting new venture. They have announced a limited-run choral concert titled Khorus Harmonia, designed and led by Sagal, with Sutter responsible for the book and staging. The concert will take place at Hollywood’s Hudson Theatres from April 22 to May 2, with a preview scheduled for April 21. Proceeds from the event will support The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights and the Wounded Warrior Project.
“Music and singing center me… Makes me feel whole in broken times,” Sagal remarked, reflecting on the emotional foundation of the performance. She noted Sutter’s drive to explore artistic boundaries, stating, “We both crave the connection of community. That’s why we are doing this.”
Sagal is widely recognized for her iconic roles, including Peg Bundy in Married…With Children and the fierce matriarch Gemma Teller in Sons of Anarchy. She boasts an extensive musical background, having performed as one of Bette Midler’s Harlettes and collaborated with various renowned artists over her career. Sagal is currently involved in an upcoming sitcom for NBC, pairing her with Jane Lynch.
Khorus Harmonia emerged in response to significant changes within Hollywood, addressing the challenges faced by those in the entertainment industry. Sutter described the concert as a “struggle toward some sort of awareness that leads to a level of hope and community.” He likened the project to the Greek chorus used in classical tragedies, aiming to weave a narrative through both music and multimedia elements.
The concert is structured to evoke a sense of collective experience, with Sutter contributing poetic interstitials to connect songs throughout the performance. “Through music and visuals and tone, [we hope] to get us to where we need to go,” he explained.
Looking ahead, Sutter has multiple projects in development, including an untitled noir drama set in 1950s Hollywood and Nomad, a drama series featuring Jason Momoa, which explores outlaw bikers in New Zealand.
Sutter previously parted with FX amid some controversies but remains optimistic about the future of his storytelling endeavors. He hinted at the possibility of revisiting the Sons of Anarchy universe, stating, “I think there are still some stories to tell… I don’t think it’s completely off the table.”
Whether riding through tales of rebellion on a Harley-Davidson or exploring new artistic avenues, the collaborative spirit of Sagal and Sutter promises to captivate audiences once again.
