Kate Middleton Elegantly Wears Lover’s Knot Tiara for Windsor State Banquet in 2026
Kate Middleton Sparkles at Nigerian State Banquet
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, made a striking entrance at the Nigerian state banquet held at Windsor Castle on March 18, marking the beginning of this year’s tiara season. The 44-year-old royal wore the exquisite Lover’s Knot Tiara, a diamond and pearl headpiece originally crafted for Queen Mary in 1914. This iconic piece is also known for being worn by the late Princess Diana.
Middleton’s attire featured an elegant emerald green gown by Andrew Gn, a color choice that pays tribute to Nigeria’s national flag. She complemented her look with Sapphire Fringe earrings that previously belonged to Queen Elizabeth and a sophisticated clutch by Jenny Packham.

The Princess completed her look with the Royal Family Order from King Charles alongside the Royal Victorian Order sash and star. Prince William, 43, appeared equally dapper in a classic white tie Windsor tailcoat, adorned with the Most Noble Order of the Garter Sash and the Lesser George.
The event also featured King Charles III and Queen Camilla, who met with Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu. During a toast, King Charles praised the contributions of individuals of Nigerian heritage in the UK, stating, “We in the United Kingdom are blessed that so many people of Nigerian heritage, having chosen Britain as their home, are now at the heart of British life through excelling at the highest levels of business, technology, academia, law, science, sport, literature and the arts, and public service. So much of Britain’s culture is, in truth, profoundly enriched by Nigeria.”
Previously, Kate Middleton donned Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet tiara during a German state visit in December 2025, continuing her tradition of honoring royal legacies through her fashion choices.
