Kate Middleton Dazzles at Nigerian State Banquet in Carrie Bradshaw’s Beloved Heels
During a state visit at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, showcased a striking style inspired by fashion icons Carrie Bradshaw and the late Princess Diana while welcoming Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady.
In a chic green gown by Andrew Gn, Middleton embraced elegance with a high neckline, sheer balloon sleeves, and a banded waistline. Her choice of footwear, Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps, known for their memorable appearance in the 1990s television series “Sex and the City,” further accentuated her fashionable ensemble.
Alongside her gown, she adorned herself with the Queen Lover’s Knot tiara—an enduring favorite of Diana’s—and sapphire fringe earrings previously owned by Queen Elizabeth II. The look was perfectly complemented by a Jenny Packham-designed purse and the Royal Family Order of King Charles III. Middleton also donned the GCVO Sash and Star, styling her hair in elegant waves.
Accompanied by her husband, Prince William, the beaming Middleton found herself in the prestigious company of King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other royal family members as they honored the Nigerian leader. This event followed Middleton’s participation in a St. Patrick’s Day parade with the Irish Guards just a day earlier, showcasing her commitment to royal duties.
William opted for a traditional black tailcoat with a white tie, showcasing his loyalty to royal tradition. The gathering underlined the importance of diplomatic ties as the royals extended their welcome to President Tinubu.
As the royal couple continues to balance numerous engagements, Middleton’s stylish appearances reinforce her role as a key figure in the British monarchy.
On the previous day, Middleton had also made headlines by donning a bespoke emerald coat by Alexander McQueen during the St. Patrick’s Day parade. The event saw her present traditional shamrocks to soldiers, further solidifying her role within the royal family and British culture.
