### Princess Kate Celebrates 44th Birthday with Family Lunch
Catherine, Princess of Wales, marked her 44th birthday with a family lunch on January 9. Joined by her mother, Carole Middleton, and sister, Pippa Matthews, the royal chose a French bistro, The Funghi Club, located in Hungerford, Berkshire—near her childhood home.
The outing comes as the Princess resumes her public duties following the holiday break. Describing the occasion, the restaurant’s social media noted, “none other than the Princess of Wales herself, Berkshire’s very own Kate Middleton” celebrated with her family. Although no pictures were shared, staff reported that she was “utterly charming, gracious, and every bit as radiant in person as you’d imagine.”

“The jungle drums of Hungerford didn’t stop beating until well into Saturday,” said the restaurant. “A little moment of magic for our small bistro — and one we won’t forget in a hurry.” The post concluded with a “Happy birthday” message to Kate.
Additionally, The Funghi Club, originating as a mushroom stall, serves French classics such as onion soup, boeuf bourguignon, cassoulet, and chicken chasseur.
On her birthday, Kate released the final installment of her ‘Mother Nature’ series on social media, emphasizing the importance of nature in her well-being and recovery from cancer treatment. “I find myself reflecting on how deeply grateful I am,” she stated, “For the rivers within us flow with ease. Fears washed away, cleanse and purify. Come to peace with our tears, and discover what it means to be alive.”
As the day unfolded, plans for private celebrations with her husband, Prince William, and their three children—Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7—were not disclosed. However, festivities are likely to coincide with the children’s school schedules.

On January 8, a day before her birthday, Kate accompanied Prince William in a surprise visit to Charing Cross Hospital, where they engaged with healthcare staff about the challenges posed by the winter virus season.

Looking ahead, Kate is set to make her first solo official appearance on January 15, where she will host the England women’s rugby team at Windsor Castle.
