Wedding Details
- Country singer Kassi Ashton married Travis Myatt on April 19 in Key West, Florida.
- The “old world” themed reception included 45 guests, who enjoyed a family-style dinner and five different desserts.
- Ashton designed and made her own wedding dress, inspired by “antique ballet and theater costumes, oceanic fantasy editorials, and deconstructed runway looks.”
In a full-circle moment, country music star Kassi Ashton wed her longtime love in the very city where they first met and got engaged.
The couple, married at The Ernest Hemingway Home in Key West, held a “relaxed but aesthetic” celebration featuring a moody color palette of antique silvers and organic textures, including bone, shell, glass, and silk.
“We wanted a small, intimate wedding centered around us and where we met,” Ashton shared. “We wanted a week with our best friends, ending in a weekend with our immediate family in our favorite place on earth, where we could swim in romantic escapism and get out of our everyday routine. We wanted to put our loved ones in our world, in our head, and in our love story.”

The festivities began with a welcome party the night before, hosted on a catamaran that sailed around the island during sunset.
During their wedding ceremony, Ashton and Myatt exchanged handwritten vows from antique books and custom-designed rings from Giador Fine Jewelry. The rings were passed among the guests, who shared “prayers, words of wisdom, love, and wishes” before the couple stood on two mirroring Turkish tapestry rugs.
“While the harpist and cellist played ‘The Rain Song’ by Led Zeppelin and the rings were passed forward, it gave us a moment alone, without the attention on us. We were able to soak in the moment and speak with one another,” Ashton recalled. “It was one of the best choices we made for the ceremony.”

The wedding featured a unique musical selection, including “Sea Murmurs,” “Song of the Black Swan,” and “Stairway to Heaven.” The ceremony was officiated by songwriter Barry Dean, with Ashton describing it as “esoteric, meaningful, and official in a way that felt natural.”
For their attire, Myatt wore an ivory suit from Eric Adler Clothing, while Ashton donned a two-part corseted gown she made herself, inspired by her history as a ballerina and theatre enthusiast.

The reception offered a sumptuous menu featuring spinach salad, Caribbean mahi mahi, chimichurri steak, and five desserts from Moondog Cafe & Bakery, including key lime pie and basque cheesecake.
Guests enjoyed dancing to “house remixes of classic rock songs,” curated by Ashton’s sister-in-law, Spinn Robertson. A medieval tent adorned with lanterns created a cozy atmosphere for the reception, designed by the couple.
A 17th-century alchemical symbol, known as “The Wedding,” resonated throughout the event and is now permanently tattooed on the couple.

The celebrations concluded with a “come-as-you-wish after-party” at Bobby’s Monkey Bar, a favorite karaoke spot for the couple, followed by a brunch the next morning.
Ashton and Myatt got engaged in Key West on March 13, 2022, after five years of dating. The couple first met at the Key West Songwriting Festival in 2017.

“I had just signed my first publishing deal, and he worked as a publisher at another company,” Ashton recalled. “I needed someone to walk me to my scooter a few blocks away from the bar late at night, which led to him driving us to the pier he later proposed on.” The proposal was a heartfelt moment, complete with a three-page speech, followed by a surprise appearance from family members.
The couple aims to continue “moving and growing in parallel lines,” as Ashton stated, focused on “chasing our dreams and who we are as people.”
