Just For Laughs Signs Distribution Deal for Alan Cumming’s Comedy Special ‘One Night Out’
Just For Laughs to Premiere ‘One Night Out with Alan Cumming’ This Thursday
Just For Laughs has announced that the comedy special One Night Out with Alan Cumming, filmed last summer at Espace St-Denis during the Montreal festival, will premiere on February 26 on Crave and CTV Comedy Channel in Canada.
The special features a star-studded lineup of queer comedians and special guests, including Sabrina Jalees, Jay Jurden, Tranna Wintour, Joe Dombrowski, Irene Tu, Dan Duvall, and Sami Landri, with live music from Mae Martin. Trevor Boris, known for Canada’s Drag Race, served as showrunner and executive producer.
Cumming’s performance addresses current issues facing the queer community while celebrating the strength of community gathering. He encapsulates the spirit of the evening with his statement: “Joy, unadulterated queer joy!”
Spencer Griffin, Executive Producer and VP of Television & Creative Strategy at Just For Laughs, praised the event, saying, “From Alan’s opening to Mae’s final song, it was one of those Just For Laughs Montreal Festival nights you’ll never forget. The special is electric—joyful, fearless, and one of those rare comedy events that feels bigger than the moment.”
Cumming, a BAFTA, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning actor, is currently hosting the popular Peacock reality competition series The Traitors. The show is nearing the end of its fourth season and has already been renewed for a fifth season. Cumming is represented by UTA, B-Side Management, and Bond Artist Management.
