The debut season of Saturday Night Live UK is set to gain momentum with the announcement of its latest musical guest, British soul singer Jorja Smith. The 28-year-old artist is preparing for a major co-headlining show at All Points East this summer on August 16, alongside Tems. Smith’s appearance on the SNL UK stage is scheduled for April 11, where she will perform alongside host Jack Whitehall.

The U.K. version of the iconic live sketch show Saturday Night Live premiered on March 21, featuring indie-rock band Wet Leg and SNL alum Tina Fey. The second episode showcased host Jamie Dornan alongside performances by Wolf Alice.
Jorja Smith gained recognition with her 2018 debut album Lost & Found, winning a BRIT Award for British female solo artist and receiving a nomination for the Mercury Prize. Her follow-up album, Falling Or Flying, was released in 2023 and reached No. 3 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart. Smith, a regular at major festivals, is also set to perform at Glastonbury Festival in 2025. Recently, she released a single titled “Price Of It All,” featured in the Amazon Prime series Bait.
Host Jack Whitehall is known for his role in the sitcom Bad Education and the travel-based stand-up series Travels With My Father. He has hosted The BRIT Awards six times, a record for any presenter, including this year’s ceremony at Co-op Live in Manchester.
SNL UK mirrors elements of its American counterpart, offering 75-minute episodes with an opening monologue, topical sketches, live music, and a British take on its satirical news segment, Weekend Update. While critics have given mixed reviews, the first series has been extended from six to eight episodes.
This weekend, on April 4, British rock band Kasabian will perform at SNL UK, with actor Riz Ahmed serving as host. The episode will air live on Sky One at 10 p.m. GMT, and will be available the next day at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Peacock. The show features an ensemble cast of emerging British comedy talents, including Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, Paddy Young, and others.
