John Krasinski Returns as Jack Ryan: New Trailer and Release Date Announced
Jack Ryan Set to Return in "Ghost War" on May 20
Jack Ryan is making his much-anticipated return to the big screen with the upcoming release of "Jack Ryan: Ghost War," set to debut on May 20. Prime Video has recently unveiled a teaser for the film, igniting excitement among fans of the franchise.
In this new installment, the titular character, portrayed by John Krasinski, is thrust back into the world of espionage for what the creators describe as his "most personal and dangerous mission yet." Joining Krasinski is newcomer Sienna Miller, who will play a key role in the film.
As the plot unfolds, Jack finds himself operating in high-stakes conditions, with lives on the line and threats escalating at every turn. He reunites with seasoned CIA operative Mike November, played by Michael Kelly, and former CIA chief James Greer, portrayed by Wendell Pierce. Together, they face adversaries who seem to anticipate their every move. With the addition of MI6 officer Emma Marlowe, played by Miller, the team must navigate a perilous landscape riddled with betrayal and confront a past they believed was behind them.
"Ghost War" marks the first feature film in the Prime franchise, following the successful four-season run of the television series from 2018 to 2023, which remains one of Prime Video’s most popular offerings.
Directed by Andrew Bernstein, the screenplay is penned by Krasinski and Aaron Rabin, based on a story by Noah Oppenheim and Krasinski. The film draws inspiration from characters created by Tom Clancy and is produced by Allyson Seeger, Krasinski, and Andrew Form, with executive production from John J. Kelly, Alexa Ginsburg, Carlton Cuse, and Clancy.
