Joanna Gaines welcomed the new year with enthusiasm, showcasing her roller skating skills in an Instagram Reel posted on January 1. The co-founder of Magnolia Network dazzled her followers with a series of impressive moves set against the backdrop of her Waco, Texas farm.
The 47-year-old star of Fixer Upper started the clip with a twirl before speeding toward the camera. She effortlessly transitioned into graceful spins, culminating in a joyful dash toward the camera, where she smiled and skated away, exclaiming, “Letssssss Rollllllllllllll 2026!” accompanied by playful emojis.
As an avid roller skater, Joanna is also an executive producer of the Magnolia Network’s skating competition series Roller Jam, which she produces alongside her husband, Chip Gaines.

Prior to her New Year’s festivities, Joanna took a moment to reflect on the end of the 2025 holiday season in an Instagram Story shared on December 31. She wrote about the transition from the festive season to a quieter, simpler home atmosphere. “Your house gets reset for the new season…you have the space to reflect about all that was and dream about all that’s to come,” she shared, emphasizing the gift of living in the moment.
Joanna has been married to Chip for 22 years and they have five children together: Ella, 19; Emmie, 15; Drake, 20; Duke, 17; and Crew, 7. The couple continues to explore new challenges to keep their relationship fresh, even recently taking dance lessons together.
Reflecting on their experiences, Chip remarked on the importance of refreshing their relationship. “It was this sweet reminder that all of us could use refreshes and challenges in our relationships,” he said, illustrating the value of learning and growing together.
